Latest Updates from Our Project:

Update, New Ogre Playmats, and Pocket Box Preorders
almost 7 years ago – Tue, Apr 09, 2019 at 02:14:35 AM

Drew, Steve, and Gabby are down to the final steps of the collected Ogrezine 2PDF, with checks ongoing. For the FnordCon event that we held in Austin last weekend, we printed up a limited number of full-color softcovers books that are an exact match for the Ogrezine 2 PDF, giving us both something cool to enjoy and a collectible that a handful of Ogre fans were lucky enough to buy at the event.

Ogre Playmat M6 and M7

We have two completely new playmats available . . . right now! We revealed these at FnordCon, and they're on Warehouse 23 if you want one for your next battle.

The latest Ogrezine II Article
about 7 years ago – Fri, Feb 22, 2019 at 12:16:34 AM

"It's a Game, not a Diorama!"

Why am I expounding upon this issue? Find out in Mack Harrison's submission to Ogrezine II titled "Building Your Own Monopolis". He shares his secrets to creating a huge 80"x50" modular Ogre board. Some of you may know Mack from his display at a variety of conventions, where he's laid out his immense "game board" to play Ogre. Others may follow his work on his blog, Super Galactic Dreadnought. But now all of us can learn how to easily make out own massive game board for the game!

More Ogre Goodies in the Pocket Box KS

Not that the Pocket Box Kickstarter isn't amazing enough, but Phil keeps finding ways to stuff even more into the campaign. In response to popular request, there are even more stretch goals of new Ogre stickers for use on empty Pocket Boxes. This is in addition to the Ogre pocket folders, games, and expansions (all with die-cut counters!) already available to backers. the $200 level is already an incredible bargain, and that's before any of these new stretch goals of Ogre and Car Wars material is added to the bundle. Check out Phil's insanity!

Last Chance for Battlefields

I'm sure that all of you have done so already, but for the one or two of you that just came out of your bomb shelter and haven't completed your pre-order (or even . . . backed the expansion <gasp!>), please note that the BackerKit for pre-orders of Battlefields will be locking down tomorrow. This is an amazing expansion for Ogre and will not be released to general distribution. Don't miss out!

Iron Mountain
about 7 years ago – Thu, Feb 14, 2019 at 08:07:09 PM

Happy Valentine's Day!

In celebration of this day of love, I have a gift for all of you who love Ogre. We have posted the updated version of "Iron Mountain" on our website. As promised, this will appear in Ogrezine II and there will be counters on the sheets provided in Battlefields appropriate to use with the scenario. You can already make those counters by using the reskins provided in response to a Battlefields stretch goal. What's that? You didn't back Battlefields and want the "Iron Mountain" counters? Well, you are in luck, as pre-orders are still open.

Speaking of Ogre from yesteryear, be sure to check out the Pocket Box Kickstarter going on now. Ogre, G.E.V., Shockwave, Ogre Reinforcement Pack, and Battlesuit are all available as some of the many games you can choose. Some of the pledges come with the Ogre expansions for free! Plus, we are not too far away from die-cut counters in each of the Ogre supplements stretch goal. (We already have them for Ogre, G.E.V., and Battlesuit.) You don't want to miss this campaign!

That is NOT a rabbit!
about 7 years ago – Fri, Feb 08, 2019 at 09:54:26 PM

Our latest article for Ogrezine II has been posted on our site. Israel Barker brings us a scenario where Israeli park rangers must try to fight off a rogue Mark II Ogre that is up to no good. Please check out "Defend the Negev!" and let us know what you think!

In other Ogre news, we await the end of the Chinese New Year so production of Battlefields may commence. If you somehow missed out on that campaign, there is still time to place a pre-order for the expansion set. We will not be releasing this to general distribution, so be sure to get your order in now if you're interested.

Finally, raise your hand if you fondly remember playing Ogre from the Pocket Box version (raises hand). Lost that set in a move? Did you never manage to pick it up and now cringe at the secondary market prices? Well, you may have heard that we're bringing Pocket Box games back. Check out our Kickstarter campaign going on now to see the many titles available, with many more unlockable as stretch goals. Ogre and G.E.V. are both there, Shockwave has already been unlocked, and Ogre Reinforcement Pack is definitely within reach. Battlesuit is also available for purchase (I missed out on this game!) These will be faithful reproductions of the original games, although the stretch goal to make the counters die-cut is about to fall! Click on over and see for yoursself.

Stay tuned for the next article for Ogrezine II!

Skynet?
about 7 years ago – Fri, Jan 25, 2019 at 01:17:17 AM

Perhaps this is how Skynet began.

We are pleased to announce that the latest article for Ogrezine II is now up on our website. Titled "Teaching a Computer to Fight Itself", Will Hutton takes us into the world of programming an artificial intelligence to learn how to play Ogre . . and get better at it as it plays. It is an interesting look into programming, presented in a way that even yours truly can understand. Those with keen memories may remember Will as the one who updated "Operation Newspaper" to Ogre Designer Edition standards. Thanks for your latest contribution, Will!
