Latest Updates from Our Project:

Ogre Playmat M2 and Add-Ons
over 7 years ago – Tue, Sep 25, 2018 at 07:52:42 PM

As we enter the final days of the project, we're happy to reveal the work-in-progress (not final) design for Ogre Playmat M2! This new 24-inch square neoprene-backed cloth playmat brings a classic Ogre map to your table: Iron Mountain!

As you can tell by the work-in-progress image, the map has been slightly expanded in size to better fit the 24-inch square playmat. This also opens the door to new scenarios using this map, as well as gives you plenty of space to try out your favorite tactics on a new battlefield.

If you're unfamiliar with the Iron Mountain scenario, you can find it today in The Ogre Book. Please note that we will post the scenario online in the future.

Add-Ons

In other news, as requested, we have three add-on items available:

  • Ogre Playmat M1 - $25 + shipping to be charged separately in BackerKit
  • Ogre Playmat M2 - $25 + shipping to be charged separately in BackerKit
  • The original Ogrezine PDF - $9, delivered through Warehouse 23 after the BackerKit stage closes.

Add-ons will be selected in BackerKit and, please remember, physical add-ons may affect final shipping costs. To add any of these items to your rewards, simply increase your pledge by the specified amount before the project closes.

New Stretch Goals!
over 7 years ago – Tue, Sep 18, 2018 at 10:20:03 PM

We're now less than $100 from unlocking the $12,000 stretch goal (details posted here), meaning that it is time we reveal new stretch goals!

  • At $15,000, all project supporters backing at the $3 reward level or higher will be sent the G1 and G2 maps in PDF, making it possible to print the maps at home in any size you wish.
  • At $18,000, as requested, we will create a print-on-demand compilation of the Ogre Scenario Book PDFs (Ogre Scenario Book 1, Ogre Scenario Book 2, Ogre Scenario Book 3). As with the Ogrezine compilation (details here), this will not be automatically added to any reward level. Instead, this will be posted to Amazon as a print-on-demand title and available to purchase in print.

At the moment, we still have one unrevealed (and big!) stretch goal. Will we break through the already-posted stretch goals in time to reveal that last surprise before this project closes? With your continued support, we can do it!

New Stretch Goal!
over 7 years ago – Sun, Sep 16, 2018 at 03:59:44 PM

You've blasted through three stretch goals in less than a day, and now we're happy to reveal a new stretch goal that meets a near-constant request we've heard since the first Ogrezine project last year: A printed collection of the articles!

If this new stretch goal is unlocked, then we will create a printed collection of Ogrezine and Ogrezine 2 articles using the same print-on-demand service that we use for our GURPS on Demand series. Additionally, for the first few months after release, we will set the price of this collected book as low as possible (covering our Amazon costs to produce and sell the books). If this goal is achieved, you will be able to purchase the book in 2019 from Amazon.com.

A few months after the book is published, we will raise the price. We will alert backers both when the book is published and before we adjust the price up, giving all project supporters a chance to purchase the compilation at the reduced price.

NOTE: The printed book, if the stretch goal is unlocked, will not be included in any reward level. The $12,000 stretch goal is only for us to create and release the book for sale on Amazon.com.

If you have any questions about this or any other Ogre project, please let us know. Thanks!

Stretch Goals Unlocked!!!
over 7 years ago – Sun, Sep 16, 2018 at 11:51:38 AM

Thank you, everyone, for the support! We've now unlocked all of the stretch goals and can report that Ogrezine 2 will include a total of eleven Ogre articles. Drew and Steve are already hard at work on the pieces (Drew has a handful of articles already in the works from some of our previous contributors), and we're looking forward to seeing the finished PDF next spring.

Until we start releasing the new articles, don't forget that you can read all of the previous articles here. Enjoy!

Submissions Wanted!

If you've always wanted to write Ogre articles and scenarios, then this is your chance! You can find the submission guidelines here, and we're looking for your best ideas.

Schedule Error

This one is solely on me, and not any other member of the team. I misunderstood a detail and, as a result, I announced the wrong dates for the delivery of the first articles. I accept full responsibility for this error; no one else on the team is to blame.

I have now updated the article release dates, pushing the first article back by one week in October. This doesn't change the expected release of the PDF, but I wanted to highlight the change and accept responsibility for the mistake. I am sorry.
